"Both of you!"

We were eating dinner and Jeremy and Danny were having a little circular argument.  I eventually said, "would both of you just drop it..."  They stopped after a few minutes and then Kylee chimed in, "but I didn't do anything!"

Given that I hadn't even said anything I asked her rather puzzled what she was talking about.  Her reply: "Well, you said both of you.  But I didn't do anything.  Only Danny did."

It was then that Jeremy and I both started to laugh because we realized that to Kylee, the phrase "both of you" is the equivalent to "Danny and Kylee" because when we say "both of you", we are almost always referring to them.
